Autumn on the River
16 x 20 inches - oil on hardboard - Here is a larger work that I recently completed. Because I have been disenchanted with stretched canvas, I made my own board for this one. I sealed the board first with coats of shellac on both sides, then several coats of gesso on the painted side. This extra work makes less sense for the small boards but, I think I like this approach for larger work. Once the work is displayed or sold, I can add a support or frame to the back.

Onion and Bowl
6 x 6 inches - oil on gessoboard - Onions are fun but tricky to paint. I am still exploring simplified colours.

It's Just Me and the Kids
6 x 6 inches - oil on gessoboard - I am coming to the conclusion that it is very important to simplify the reflections when painting glass objects.
