Into the Woods

 6 x 6 inches - oil on hardboard - Here is an early morning view of the woods on the hill. I use commercial panels if I can get them but if not, I will cut my own hardboard panels which I seal using two coats of GAC-100 both sides followed by gesso. For larger boards, I sometimes glue oil-primed linen to the sealed panels or attach the linen onto stretcher bars. I use primarily walnut oil alla prima.

Pink and White Peony

 6 x 6 inches - oil on hardboard - Peonies have got to be among the most dependable performers in our garden. Plant them and forget them for 40 years or so.

6 x 6 inch - oil on hardboard.  We don't grow many of the large irises anymore due to the iris borer, but I find them beautiful especially up close. I have not posted for quite a while now, even though I never stopped painting. I just decided with the (hopefully temporary) slow down and unreliability of the postal service in both Canada and the USA I would put a pause on selling.
