Pink Pond Lily

6 x 6 inches - oil on gessoboard - I tried to get the colour I wanted with cadmium red but finally used alizarin instead. I have been trying to simplify my palette. It is only in the bright colours like this pink where I have difficulties.

Molson

6 x 8 inches - oil on gessoboard - Molson is our granddaughter's dog.  He is big, friendly, he slobbers a lot, and he likes to carry a big stick around the yard.

Autumn on the River

16 x 20 inches - oil on hardboard - Here is a larger work that I recently completed. Because I have been disenchanted with stretched canvas, I made my own board for this one.  I sealed the board first with coats of shellac on both sides, then several coats of gesso on the painted side. This extra work makes less sense for the small boards but, I think I like this approach for larger work. Once the work is displayed or sold, I can add a support or frame to the back.
