Beans and Peas

Oil on Hardboard 6 x 7" - I brought in the first of the beans from the garden today as well as the last of the peas. All the peas fought valiantly to reach the house but only this one made it.

This is one of my favourite vases. Its dark and irregular shape with a small opening lends itself to one or two small flowers. The rock was one that unfortunately hopped into our trunk as we were visiting the ocean.

Bowl of Beauty

This peony is actually called "Bowl of Beauty" so it seemed right to paint it this way.

Mock Orange

I brought a cutting from our Mock Orange in and painted it. The smell when it is flowering is amazing. I had to prune it severely this year because it was taking over its neighbours.
