A Moose in Winter

 

12 x 16 inches - oil on canvas board - Of the creatures you might see in the forest, this very large one is the most formidable. They are strong swimmers, who are able to survive some of the nastiest conditions and they are not afraid of anything including you, so you best stay clear of them.

Over the Salt Marsh

12 x 16 inches - oil on canvas board - Ok, I am now back from a trip to south east Europe which may result in future paintings. Before leaving, though, I had a desire to try to paint some larger wildlife portraits. I decided that I would try to complete at least 12, in case I want to some day to create a calendar. This is the first of a heron flying over the salt marsh.
