Bentley

8 x 8 inches - oil on linen board - Bentley is sadly no longer with us. He loved to spend time in the garden.

Spiraea On The Hill

6 x 6 inches - oil on gessoboard - Our Spiraea has now finished flowering.  It looks great from a distance but I am not a fan of the smell or the work it takes to prune.  These are the stairs to the part of our garden we call bucket hill because everything has to be carried up and down in a bucket.

Ruined Arch

8 x 10 inches - oil on gessoboard - I painted this from a photo that I took a few years ago in KEW gardens in the UK. This is a folly, which just means its a structure with no use other than decoration. Apparently, it was once used as a bridge to bring cattle into enclosed pastures in the garden. It is made of brick and clad with stone.

Trumpet Vine

I have not posted for some time. Sorry about that.  I have not stopped painting though, I have just not been posting.  I'll try to put some of my paintings up over the next little while. Trumpet vines sometimes take a while to get started but once they do, stand back.
